Gather your family and friends for a beloved holiday tradition! The Safeway Holiday Ice Rink in Union Square presented by Kaiser Permanente is back for another magical season of outdoor skating and holiday festivities in the heart of downtown San Francisco.
Hour-long sessions start every 90 minutes. General admission is $22 or $17 for kids 8 and under; prices include skate rental. Don’t miss our special events throughout the season, including Drag On Ice, Silent Skate, Polar Bear Skate and more!

Get ready for an immersive coffee experience when the 9th annual San Francisco Coffee Festival® kicks off. Enjoy specially curated exhibitors, including the Bay Area’s top coffee roasters, as they share with you some of the best coffee, teas, eats, and more, in the country. Want to learn more about coffee? Just ask the master roaster at their booth, or attend one of the many educational panels. But it’s all about the coffee vibes, right? Sway along to a soundtrack provided by some of the best bands and entertainment in the Bay, while you taste endless coffee at the iconic Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture’s Festival Pavilion.

Celebrating the handcraft of design, it brings together exhibitors who showcase work made with meticulous detail, natural materials, and brilliant colors--offering items that are both beautiful and functional. The exhibits feature a diverse selection, including textiles, stained glass, furniture, ceramics, metalwork, jewelry, repurposed wood and iron, clothing, artifacts, estate finds, photography, paintings, sculpture, and artisan foods.

Held every fall in Golden Gate Park, this beloved three-day music festival is totally free and rooted in community. From bluegrass to a broader mix of Americana, rock, soul, folk, funk, and more. It’s one of the Bay Area’s favorite outdoor gatherings, drawing huge crowds who come to enjoy music under the trees, picnics on the lawn, and plenty of good vibes.

The city comes alive with a week-long salute to our armed forces—featuring a parade of ships, ship tours, concerts, and a dazzling air show over the Bay. The skies roar with performances from the Blue Angels and other military aircraft, and the waterfront buzzes with activity from Pier 30/32 to Marina Green.

Celebrate Oktoberfest at Marin Country Mart. Enjoy Bavarian traditions with hearty German fare and beer from Suppenküche, live music by the Bohemian Brothers and Marin Symphony Brass Quintet, and festive activities for all ages. Kids can join pretzel-making crafts, while adults can take part in stein-holding and best-dressed contests. It’s a lively, family-friendly day of food, music, and community right by the Larkspur Ferry.

Enjoy a family-friendly Halloween on Fourth Street in downtown San Rafael! Kids and families can dress up and visit participating merchants for treats (or tricks) — just look for the “Participating Businesses” signs in the windows. The festivities include a Pet Costume Contest sponsored by Woodlands Pet Food & Treats, Trunk or Treat with the San Rafael Police Department, and a Prize Wheel in the Plaza hosted by Foster Our Future.
