Savor the Future: New and Coming Restaurants in San Francisco & Marin 2026

The Bay Area food scene never stands still—and 2026 is no exception. From San Francisco’s bustling neighborhoods to Marin’s scenic towns, new restaurants are popping up that promise unforgettable flavors, creative concepts, and the kind of buzz that keeps locals and visitors coming back. Whether you’re craving the next culinary hotspot, a neighborhood gem, or a vibrant new bar, here’s your guide to what’s new and what’s coming soon in the year ahead.

SAN FRANCISCO

Maria Isabel A new Mexican restaurant from chefs Laura and Sayat Ozyilmaz, the acclaimed duo behind Presidio favorite Dalida. Expected to open February 2026 in the former Ella’s American Kitchen space in Presidio Heights. The menu draws from Laura’s roots, paired with seasonal California ingredients.

JouJou An upcoming French seafood restaurant and lounge bringing oysters, caviar, and champagne to the Design District from the team behind True Laurel and Lazy Bear. The highly anticipated winter 2026 opening will feature a seafood-forward à la carte menu alongside a striking, multi-room space designed for both dining and lingering.

Dante's Inferno An immersive dining and nightlife concept blending Jamaican-Italian cuisine with live music and a rooftop bar. Set to open Fall 2026 in Hayes Valley. Designed as a multi-level social destination, the space aims to merge bold flavors, performance, and atmosphere into one high-energy experience.

Sons & Daughters This two-Michelin-starred restaurant is moving from Nob Hill to a larger Mission District space at 18th and Florida streets. The new site combines a spacious dining room with open kitchen and a bar, and the restaurant hopes to re-open in late 2026.

Mess Hall at The Presidio An exciting food and beverage destination adjacent to the iconic Presidio Tunnel Tops. Designed as an all-day eatery, expected to open Summer 2026.

The Cliff House The beloved and historic Land’s End/Richmond restaurant is set for a long-awaited revival, with an anticipated reopening in late 2026. The reimagined destination is expected to feature four distinct restaurants, including a high-end seafood concept, a family-friendly burger spot, a coffee-and-pastry café, and a fourth concept yet to be revealed.

MARIN COUNTY

Tartine This renowned bakery was originally scheduled to open late 2025 in Mill Valley's Strawberry Village, but has been pushed to this Spring.

Hidden Splendor Beer A new brewery and taproom concept slated to open in San Rafael early 2026, from the founder of Magnolia Brewing. The project will focus on classic, balanced beer styles with an emphasis on traditional brewing and a relaxed, neighborhood feel.

Super Duper This local burger favorite is set to take over the former Amy’s Drive Thru location in Corte Madera, marking its third Marin outpost. An opening is anticipated in 2026, though an exact date has yet to be announced.

Hilda's Coffee Shop After more than 60 years as a San Anselmo institution, Hilda’s closed in late 2025 and is slated to reopen in 2026 under new ownership. Led by Pat Townsley of Creekside Pizza, the refreshed space will preserve its classic charm while introducing an updated menu focused on breakfast, brunch, and burgers.

Giorgio's Pizzeria The beloved San Francisco institution is expanding to San Rafael’s vibrant 4th Street, with construction now underway. The new location is expected to open in early 2026.

Piccino Sul Mare The team behind San Francisco favorite Piccino is bringing its Italian-inspired California cuisine to the Sausalito waterfront. Slated to open in 2026, offering seasonal, farm-driven dishes, housemade pastas, and pizzas in a scenic bayside setting.

Beyond the delicious dishes and inventive menus, these openings reflect the energy, growth, and vibrancy of our communities.
